FLOWER PICTURE
by Kathleen Ripley Leo

Wild things you said
like the wild white
yarrow in dense sprays
packing the porcelain vase.
Its finish brushed
by a tight hawthorn cluster.
Stems thick against each other,
asters and goldenrod,
dogtooth violet and trillium,
each breathing the other in.
