Summer Reading Program Storytimes & Activities

*  Important Tips for Attending Storytimes & Activities *
  • Youth summer reading program storytimes and activities are intended for Northville residents and recommended for children ages 2 – 12.
  • Due to space limitations, summer library activities cannot accommodate preschool groups, daycare groups or day camps. 
  • Certain activities require Free Tickets available ten minutes prior to daily events at the Information Desk. 
  • Expect a waiting line for tickets. Please understand shows may “sell out.”
  • Tickets may not be reserved in advance.
  • A maximum of 4 tickets per person.

Enjoy a lively storytime! Summer storytimes are best suited for children ages 3 and older, but everyone is welcome. No ticket required, just drop in! Due to space limitations, summer library activities cannot accommodate preschool groups, daycare groups or day camps. The full schedule of library storytimes resumes in September. The fall season storytime schedule will be available in August.

Preschool – 2nd Grade Reading Game

Get buggy for books! Listen or read books to earn great prizes. This reading game is recommended for children preschool through 2nd grade, but younger children may also participate.
Reading Game Directions:
1.    Register for the Catch the Reading Bug @ The Library Summer Reading Program to receive your summer reading activity guide featuring the Buggy for Books reading game.
2.    Complete the Buggy for Books reading game at your own pace. When you finish Part 1 visit the Information Desk to choose prizes from the treasure chest. Do the same for Part 2. Please note you may not use a book title more than once. One reading game per person for the summer.
3.    The last day to receive reading game prizes is August 15, 2008.

3rd – 6th Grade Reading Game

Weekly Prize Drawings

Read and enter weekly prize drawing to win prizes! Entering is easy, simply complete a Book Report Form – kids can enter as many times as they like, but may only win once for the summer – and place it in the drawing box at the library’s Information Desk. Book report forms are available at the Information Desk, or to download from the link below. Book reports are due by noon each Monday during the summer reading program. Winners are drawn and contacted later in the day.
