The Biography Resource Center (BioRC) is a comprehensive database of biographical information on over 340,000 people from throughout history, around the world, and across all disciplines and subject areas. BioRC is designed to provide quick and easy access to this vast array of information, thereby meeting a wide range of information needs.

Columbia Grangers World of Poetry
Contains 11,000 poems, poet biographies and a glossary of literary terms.

E-Library Elementary  (K . 12)
Full-text of magazines and newspapers, as well as maps, pictures, and TV/radio scripts, searchable by reading levels

Facts.com World News Digest  (Middle and High School)
This database is designed for older students and adults, but also contains helpful resources for younger students researching recent history and overviews of current topics in the news.  Contains full-text news archives dating back to 1940.  Use the .What Happened That Day?. feature to find out what happened on your birth date!

Ferguson's Career Guidance Center
Ferguson's Career Guidance Center offers detailed and up-to-date descriptions of more than 2,800 of the most popular jobs in 93 industries, as well as more than 23,000 resources (many with Web addresses, when applicable), to help you select, plan, and advance your career.

Infotrac Junior Edition  (Middle School)
This periodical database is designed for students in junior high and middle school, with magazines, newspapers and reference books (most are full-text) for information on current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, people, government, history, sports and more.

Infotrac Kids' Infobits  (Elementary School)

Great resource for information on literary figures from all time periods, writing in such genres as fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, history, journalism and more.

MOIS
MOIS is the Michigan Occupation Information System, designed to help match your strengths to a career.  The database is arranged into a four-step career development model: self-assessment, exploration (with detailed career profiles), decision making, and career planning.  MOIS is available only on CD-ROM at the library using our Public Internet or Adaptive Feature Workstations located on the lower level.
