Policy on Citizen Comment at Library Board of Trustees Meetings The purpose of this policy is to provide for the orderly conducting of District Library Board of Trustees Meetings while, at the same time, providing adequate opportunity for citizens to offer their opinions and views regarding their library and its programs. The Northville District Library Board of Trustees shall allow time, immediately following the approval of minutes, for citizen comment regarding non-agenda items of interest or personal concern to them. Citizens wishing to address a specific agenda item will be given the opportunity to do so when that item is before the Board of Trustees for discussion and prior to a vote being called. Citizens normally will be given a maximum of five (5) minutes to address any agenda item or to express their views during the citizen comment period. The Chair will have the responsibility to insure that this policy is followed. Approved by the Board of Trustees June 24, 1999 Reaffirmed by the Board of Trustees Nov. 18, 2004 |
