Transferring Your Audiobook to a Portable Device

Getting Started

  •  Your player must run WMA(Windows Media Audio player) version  9 or 10) It is best that the device is listed in the supported devices on the NetLibrary/ RecordedBooks Web site http://www.netlibrary.com/RecordedBooks/Help or  http://www.playsforsure.com
  • You should be familiar with the device and how it hooks up to the computer and operates
  • Make sure you have downloaded the CD Quality Audiobook  to your computer
  • Make sure you have already opened the Audiobook on your computer and downloaded the license prior to beginning the transfer

Step 1 Attach your portable player to your computer

Step 2 Open Windows Media Player on your Computer

Step 3 If using Windows 2000 or Windows Media Player 9,

  • Select Copy to Device or CD from the menu on the left side of the screen
  • Use the pulldown menu at the top of the right side of your screen to list all Music
  • Choose your device from the drop down Menu on the right side of the screen. Make sure the box next to the book you want to download is checked
  • Click on the Copy button on the top to the right of your screen

            If using Windows Media Player 10

  • Select SYNC from the Menu at the top of the player
  • Click on Edit Playlist  and choose your audiobook
  • Your audiobook is in the Synch list on the left panel of the screen
  • The name of your device is in the right panel of the screen
  • Click on the Start Synch button on the upper left of the synch list.

Step 4 After 3 weeks if you do not renew the book with NetLibrary, the file will not play on your device.

Step 5 You should remove the file from your device and your computer when you are finished with the book as it does not happen automatically.
